How Will the Ketamine be Administered?

Once the physician has determined that you are medically appropriate for ketamine-assisted therapy, he will prescribe you enough lozenges for approximately four-six sessions. A compounding pharmacy will send you the package of lozenges via mail.

When you arrive in the office, you will make yourself comfortable in a reclined position. If desired, I provide an eye mask, noise-canceling headphones with a relaxing playlist, and essential oils. We will review your intentions for treatment and bring focus to your mantra for the session.

When ready, you will place the lozenges under your tongue where they dissolve gradually, allowing for absorption of the medication through the mucous membranes. This method ensures controlled delivery of ketamine into the bloodstream, facilitating its therapeutic effects.

After 15 minutes, you will begin to feel the effects of the ketamine. You will relax for 45 - 120 minutes, focusing inward. I am right there with you for the entire session, providing support and encouragement.

When the effects of the ketamine wear off, you may feel like processing your experience, or you may feel tired and want to go home and rest. I will always take your lead and strive to make the treatment as beneficial to you as possible.
